Policies
Safeguarding
Everyone we serve, especially children and vulnerable adults, has the right to be safe, respected and free from harm or exploitation.
If someone is in immediate danger, call Nigeria’s emergency number 112 or contact the police first.
Our commitments
- Help is never conditional on religious belief, conversion, worship attendance, or anything else in return.
- Staff and volunteers working with children or vulnerable adults will be checked, trained and supervised before they begin.
- We never publish identifiable photographs or stories of beneficiaries without documented, informed consent, and never where it could put someone at risk.
- Personal, medical and financial information is kept confidential and shared only with those who need it.
- We will not tolerate abuse, exploitation, harassment or the misuse of power, by anyone acting for LIGF.
Raising a concern
If you are worried about the behaviour of anyone acting for LIGF, or about the safety of someone we serve, please tell us using our contact form with the subject “Safeguarding concern”. Give only brief details; a designated safeguarding lead will contact you privately. Concerns are handled confidentially and referred to the appropriate authorities where required.
A designated safeguarding lead and direct reporting line will be published here once appointed.
